Wanda Gurley Thomas is the Executive Director of the National 8(a) and Small Disadvantaged Business Association, Inc. (formerly, Region IV 8(a) Contractors Association, Inc.), headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
She has served as Executive Director for seven years. She was formerly a Regional Sales Manager for the Procter & Gamble Company for 12 years. Prior to that position, Mrs. Thomas spent 15 years with the Federal Government in various capacities of management with the following federal agencies FBI, General Services Administration, U.S. Department of Education and Department of Army (FORSCOM).
Mrs. Thomas has served on several boards. She is presently serving as Chairman of the board for R.S. Thomas Training Association, Inc., a management consulting and training firm located in Atlanta, Georgia. The firms portfolio consists of professional/executive training programs (i.e., managing organizational change, customer service training, leadership, teambuilding, risk management, safety (OSHA standards) ethics, total quality management training and a multitude of custom designed training formats). She also serves on the boards of Child Kind, Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, Cowboy of Color Museum, Fort Worth, Texas and formerly served on the board for the Fort Worth Chapter of Sickle Cell Anemia. She also served as Charter member of the Procter and Gamble Corporate Board for Blacks in Sales.
Mrs. Thomas’ business affiliations include the National Association of Female Executives, National Association of Executive Directors, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters, Atlanta Association of Insurance Professionals, National Council of Women in Business, Lifetime member of the National Council of Negro Women, the Georgia Minority Supplier Diversity Council, Member of the NAACP, and is the President and founding member of the Trendsetters (Women in Business) for the 191 Society Club Corp and supporter
and member of the Atlanta Association of Insurance Professionals, a member and supporter of Friends of Morehouse School of Medicine.
